Senior Pastor, Tom Miller

I have been the Senior Pastor of Hope Covenant Church since July 2005, but my story began long ago in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home of the Blitzburgh Steelers. In Pittsburgh, I learned to work hard, follow God and root for the Green Bay Packers. (the Steelers were terrible until the 1970s). Once the time came for college, I went to Mackinaw College on Mackinac Island, Michigan for a year before transferring to Houghton College in New York for a semester, then Fort Wayne Bible College in Indiana. It was in Fort Wayne that I accomplished three things: earning my Bachelor's degree, falling in love with the Boundary Waters Canoeing Area, and meeting my wife. Laura has been a faithful and loving wife through everything. First, it was four years of youth ministry in Manito and Springfield, IL, followed by three years of seminary at Bethel Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during which, I was the youth pastor at First Covenant Church in River Falls, Wisconsin. After completing seminary at North Park Seminary in Chicago, I became the Senior Pastor at Zion Covenant Church in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, where I remained for five years until receiving a call to be the Minister of Christian Formation and Congregational Care at First Covenant Church in Rockford, Illinois. I ministered at First Covenant for thirteen years, where my family and I developed many lasting friendships, served God faithfully, and grew together in Christ.
Laura and I have three children and a wonderful son-in-law: Anne and her husband Kevan, who live in Oregon, and Will and Seth, who still live with us. God is taking us on an incredible journey of faith; full of joy and pain, but always guided by Christ's great and awesome love.
