Pastor, Tom Miller
I have been the Pastor of Hope Covenant Church since July 2005 and in ministry for over 35 years. What I enjoy about life and ministry are the people I meet. Every person has a unique and interesting faith journey and I enjoy listening to their stories. It reminds me of the ones I read about in Scripture. Even though those people lived in a different time and era, their stories reveal how God works in people’s lives. They are a reminder that God’s great love and grace are never ending – even for today.
Hope Covenant is special because of what the Lord is doing in this place. Hope is really a community church because our mission is to reach the Indianapolis community with the transforming love of Jesus. Hope is reaching the community through hosting various weekly programs: the Hollis Adams Special Needs Adult program and two AA groups so men and women can help one another in their recovery efforts. Hope also opens its doors to a Hispanic Church, an African Church, and a young adult ministry called iHOPE. Throughout the year, Hope conducts several food collecting efforts at two Marsh grocery stores to help with the food-needs at Wheeler Mission. Even though Hope is a small congregation, we provide some of the largest donations of canned goods and other necessary staples to Wheeler Mission. During the summer months, Hope makes garden plots available to people in the community so they can raise natural and wholesome food. There are other programs at Hope (weekly Bible studies, men’s studies and women’s activities), but again, it is the people and their love for the Lord and others that makes Hope a special place.
If you’re looking to be a part of a caring and loving community, come and give Hope a try. Maybe you will see and experience what many people have shared – Hope is a loving and caring community for Jesus Christ.
On a personal note: My wife Laura and I have been married for 37 years. We have three children, a son-in-law, and two special grandchildren. Our daughter, Anne and her husband Kevan, live in Oceanside, CA, along with their two boys. Our sons, Will and Seth still live with us. God has taken us on an incredible journey of faith that’s been guided by God’s great and awesome love.
