IMPACTING INDIANAPOLIS

WHEELER MISSION

We choose a different ministry focus every month. Collecting financial offerings, food, or goods for Wheeler Mission is one that we came back to time and again.

In years past, we had a wonderful partnership with Marsh foods, enabling us to help raise a significant amount for Wheeler’s food pantry. We haven’t been able to find a replacement in this since Marsh went out of business a few years ago, but we still collect food, clothing, and other necessities.

We also still operate a neighborhood food drive at Thanksgiving, and collect clothing and other necessities.

Wheeler has been a significant mission for central Indianapolis for years, and it has been a blessing to take part in their ministry. From their website: “Wheeler Mission helps the homeless in Indiana. Wheeler is a non-denominational, Christian, social services organization, which provides critically needed goods and services to the homeless, poor, and needy of central Indiana.”

ABBA FATHER: A SISTER CONGREGATION

A hispanic congregation, Abba Father, meets in our building for Sunday worship, as well as a few times throughout the week for prayer, fellowship, and Bible study. Every so often, we collaborate and have a joint worship service.

Abba Father is a recent church plant, and we are happy to rent our space to them as they grow in their ministry.

Helping younger churches get started—particularly Hispanic congregations—has been an off-again, on-again ministry for us since the early 2000s.

COMMUNITY GARDENS

We have several garden plots on the north side of our property, where members of the community gather and grow all manner of produce during the spring and summer months. If you’re interested in working with the garden, or would like to rent a plot next summer, contact the church office (hopeoffice@hopecov.org).

FOOTSTEPS OF HOPE

"Let them praise His name with dancing . . ."

          Ps. 149:3

Footsteps of Hope is a dance ministry of Hope Covenant; a unique group of dancers who have been called to glorify our Lord through the gift of dance. They have shared their dance ministry with Christian Conferences and Retreats, and many local and statewide churches including Christ the Savior Lutheran, Saint Luke’s Methodist, and Traders Point Christian Church.

They incorporate different styles of dance, such as ballet and modern, and dance to various types of music, including a mix of traditional hymns, praise songs, and contemporary music.

Footsteps of Hope’s mission is to worship, praise, and glorify Jesus Christ our Savior. They seek to express His truth and gospel through the gift of dance.

If you would like invite Footsteps of Hope to your church, to share their dancing during your worship service, contact Debbie Masten @ (317) 575-8161. There is no fee, although love offerings are always gratefully accepted.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

While it is not a direct ministry that we offer, we have established Men’s and Women’s AA groups that meet every week in our lower level fellowship hall.
